O Innocence

this letter is for you my dear
the one who truly wished me tears
O innocence you made me blind
in a happy world I can't find
I slept long in a sweet dream
reality of which made me scream
It’s all your fault, you kept me pure
this life is cruel, how will I endure?
O innocence what have you done
this world crushed me in its fun
O innocence how will I live
without the skill to brutally kill
without the art of clean deception
I stand alone, a foolish exception
my plain face, once pretty to see
now its ugly what the world calls me
O innocence! you took away
my reason to live, my desire to stay
my words to write, my voice to sing
my days of light, my everything
O innocence, now you shall see
How the world kills me and you in me
