O Sun

O Sun

Arise, O Sun, break dawn, your light.
Chase far away, the demon, Night.
Whose presence magnifies my plight.
Arise, O Sun, break dawn, your light.

Upward, O Sun, on steady pace.
Strengthen the smile upon my face.
I long to feel your warm embrace.
Upward, O Sun, on steady pace.

Hold fast, O Sun, now acme high.
Majestic there 'top midday sky.
Your boldness makes my shadow shy.
Hold fast, O Sun, now acme high.

Don't leave, O Sun, I beg you, stay.
The soft'ning light you now display,
Steals all my hope, and fades away.
Don't leave, O Sun, I beg you, stay.

Return, O Sun, pray ease my mind.
Don't strand my soul, cold and resigned.
I need you, even though I'm blind.
Return, O Sun, pray ease my mind.
