He spoke yesterday morning
as his slumbered body rested in the dark
behind that little coffee shop.

It was the most distinctly aware
dialogue one had ever heard, like that of a
well-practiced announcer.

She hurriedly closed the shop and left
unaware of this sleeping obstruction
behind the coffee shop where she worked.

Walking quickly away from the building
she had mistakenly stepped down onto
the left side of his chest. Her sole
punched his body in the heart.

Without looking back, she exited the alley and
moved towards her parked car in the street.
He did not notice the tears she kept with her.
