Obliteration of My Soul

My mind travels time while my body stands still.
Neither really know the concept of reality,
but nevertheless, each challenge the other.
My mind ventures space, my body, Earth.
You may see me here but I'm somewhere else
dealing the cards my thoughts have given me,
not the one's life has granted me.

Measurements of my expectations exist,
however, I only see them in the dark
where everything is seemingly infinite.
The person I am is invisible not ethereal,
for I am still here and not in the heavens.
My perception is one of contempt and pleasure,
because although I'm angry, it's no fun without conflict.
