Ocean Girl

I'm on the edge of nothing and everything, all at once.
The ocean is a seductress, a temptress,
Calling out to me oh so sweetly.
Her shoreline beckons me with waves on my calves,
But she's cold, unforgiving, and fear-inducing.

She tells me stories of stormy eyes, wavy hair,
And a soft hand once in mine.
If I open my mouth and breathe her air in,
I can taste her on my tongue,
Almost as sweet as the days when she was here.
