The ocean cover 71% of the planet
It cradles every continent
And is reminded of what the world has gone through.
The ocean saw lands grow apart
Witnessed the death of a species
And watched the earth regrow.
It has seen wars won and lost
Felt the tension across waters.
The ocean is filled with life
But is dying at the same time.
It gives more than it receives
What the ocean does get back
Is the debris
Left from what the people think.
That is what the ocean gets
For nurturing the world we see.
