October Love

I remember the first time we spoke, and how you touched my hand.
How you attempted to appeal to me,
Who knew you were part of God's plan?
I remember our first date, and all those late conversations.
You gave me all of your time;
At will, and without hesitation.
I remember our first kiss.
I tried to pull away.
I was too nervous; I didn't know what to do or say.
I remember when we made it official,
It was a cool October night.
I remember standing by the water,
In front of the city lights.
I remember when we said, "I love you,"
Three words that strengthened our bond.
My sweet October love,
Since then, you've been the one.
I remember the first time we made love, the passion that was felt.
You smelled like sweet cinnamon, which made my body melt.
I hope we're together forever.
I hope we're never apart.
October love,
Be mine always.
I openly surrender my heart.
