Ode to a Curse

Your skin must be
Silken Lavender
Twisting my words into knots
Cunningly rude
Carmine turned Scarlet
Bundling my blood into clots

Subdued eyes so
Pleasingly pastel
Silencing color to a soft hush
Free-floating and flying
Above lilac clouds
Carelessly melting into your touch

Embrace me in your Byzantium arms
String me along this satin lace
Enchantingly orchid and stupidly red
Holding on to this bubble gum chase

If I hold on too long or too dearly
Will you still linger
Will you still stay
Or will you think clearly
And run away?
