Ode To Autumn

Slowly floating down from the sky I see
An array of colors, the sight of my own breath
The smell of crisp air, and leaves from the trees
Marvelous life before a lovely death

Summers final days slip from my hands out off reach
Wind howls through the naked branches at night
Stars shine glowing, flashing a shade of bleach
Brisk morning air the weather is just right

The days grow shorter, our tan lines fade
We love pumpkins and dread the school work
But in our minds are the memories made
Your picture in my head forever it lurks

The seasons change this cold can't bear to last
Soon spring will arise like no time has past
