Ode to Faye

When you were born, some years ago,
We really weren't aware,
If we would have you very long,
We surrounded you with prayer.

Health problems plagued you often,
You lived from day to day,
But all the lives of those you knew
Were touched along the way.

We marveled at your courage,
Your strength helped get us through.
We pretended we were strong and brave,
Yet the strongest one was you.

We know you're in a better place,
With loved ones gone before.
We await the day to come,
When we walk through that door.

So rest in peace, dear Faye, my niece.
Tell your Mom, I said hello.
I have to add, it's true you know,
We didn't want to see you go.
