Ode to Liberty
Forefathers did die, their children now free.
Forever changed were their actions undone.
Forged our identity with a just decree:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident"
Cried the voice of the nation combined.
Groups of soldiers thrust a flag, represent
Symbol of one, independence defined.
A candid world stepped back with certain awe
That these few heroes dared to aspire
For liberty despite the risk they saw.
Hallowed is the act, that single desire.
Be there no question, just sure certainty,
We, the people, are conceived in liberty.
