Ode to Sense

Have you ever heard the ticking of clocks, the buzzing of bees, or the whistling wind through the trees?
Do you listen?
Do you hear?
Time is running out my dear.
Do you take time to enjoy, or simply avoid the noise?
When you hear children giggling, do you roll your eyes in dismay?
Or do you enjoy their play?

Think of every hand you shake, the hugs you give, the friends you make
Think of every heart you’ve touched
Do they matter to you much?

How about the gift of sight?
Do you try to block out the light?
Do you see the world through a blurry lens? Do you see the pain within your friends?
Open your eyes, take off your disguise
Life is too short to carry on blind.
