Ode to the Moon

You light up the night
With a billion stars.
You live with the sun
Along with Jupiter and Mars.

You are like a diamond
In the shape of sphere.
I can see your glow
When the sky is clear.
You have eight phases,
All of them bright.
If there was no moon,
There would be no night.
Down here on Earth,
You look small and tiny,
But up in space,
You are big and mighty.

When the day comes,
I'll say goodbye.
I may not see you,
But I know you're in the sky.
I won't worry,
You'll show yourself soon.
You help us sleep,
So thank you moon.
