Ode to Tomorrow

"Tomorrow will be a good day,"
I promise to myself before
my pillows too grow tired
of my senseless rambles.

Tomorrow my woes shall
disappear as the book in
my hand falls from my
fingertips, into the blackhole
that is my depression.

Tomorrow I will be awakened
and joy will protrude from
my every orifice, and sparrows
will sing my return.

Tomorrow however, never comes
and I awake simply in the moment.
waiting for tomorrow.
