Of Love, Of Life

By Lauren    Lauren

Life gave me breath,
Her beauty filling my lungs,
The motherly affection she showed.

One wish turns to sixteen,
Many secrets turn to one,
One secret is told to many.

Punch after kick,
Word after word,
To love one of the same.

Shunned by society,
Love's grasp on the life
In my beating heart.

To love another girl,
Is wrong if...
YOU are a girl.

To love another boy,
Is wrong if...
I am a boy.
