Often Forgotten

How near do we hold each other dear
How often do we comfort the other in times of fear
We promised we will always have each other
But are we truly there for one another
Does Love, love itself
Does it come in a tangible package to be kept on a shelf
Do emotions have feathers or grow wings
How is it that something special becomes just a fling

Young ladies guard your hearts
Young men hold a woman in best regard,
Yes her every part
Not just in the physical,
When times are good
But through the emotional,
When times are as hard as dried wood

Pull. Push. Resist
Give. Take. Persist
Dig deep, seek what is profound
Scrutinizing from the top to the ground
Stand together and together withstand the fall
To make promises in vain: it's better to not promise at all
