Oh Devil’s Son

There is a story that has been told
About a demon in an angel’s hold
The demon is now out of hell
It is resting, so they tell

This demon, they say
Was not bad, but well
For he stopped the war
Against heaven and hell

An angel sat and laid in wait
For the demon’s day
For when the demon breathed it’s last
It knew just what to say

"Come to me
Oh devil’s son
Your time here is numbered
But you have done good
So your reward will be
Eternal heaven slumber"

The demon saw the angel
And it was no longer hard bitten
For then the angel gripped it tight
And raised it from perdition
