Oh Manhattan

Oh, Manhattan
The sky scrapers, high rise buildings and blazing lights at night
The liberty statue island is looking over with a lady raising torch
Manhattan with its famous avenues and streets
The Broadway, Madison and the 32 and 34 streets
From Broadway shows, Rockefeller Center and symphony h
The museum of Natural History and Guggenheim
From the fast world of hustle and bustle
To Central Square haven of tranquility
Of green grass, shrubs and trees
To blue sparkling surface lakes
Manhattan is land of hundred tongues
Of congested streets, subways and taxis
To tourists, visitors and the magnificent building of United Nations
It all started in 1524, when explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano
Met the boats of the fishermen Lenape Natives
Manhattan is a legend long known by the Empire State
The most prominent of New York City counties
Manhattan, Manhattan here we come
For the New Year celebration
Remember, the Union Square famous dropping ball
The large crowds, fireworks, extravaganza, whistles and cheers
For the excitement of the birth of a new year
Oh and the fabulous Macy's colorful parade
