Old Dog

The chuff chuff chuff of the old dog rounding for home
Wind pushes his feathery flanks
And outlines his bony frame
He's not long for this world
Winter is coming.
The hopeless wish of love that he was gone
Blown by the same wind
Not shoved by a needle at a fear soaked address
Gone in the wind forever running, full flying
Free.
