Old Stars

like a certain sail
cast too high
like a dreamy touch
its not quite ennough

but like a certain cloud
we drift too far
through passing nights
we wish upon a star

only to find a ghost
with a shadow not far behind
in the dark they walk alone
following the old stars light

yet in company they share
memories of past dreams
one wanted to love
the other wanted to sleep

the ghost wanted to follow.
the shadow wanted to be free.
