Olden Days

Olden Days
Howdy lamppost I see you are glowing
I have come to smell your flowers growing
Settled down by the cobble stone
Overhead a singing jay has flown!
Hand in hand, side by side, here and there all of life!
Bandstand is playing on as the husband marries the wife
Olden days are golden days!
Beholden ways of these golden days!
Tie a yellow ribbon around a sycamore tree
I hear a buzzing of the bulging bumble bee
Devise a rope and a tire into a swing
Falling deep in love all the while voices sing!
Hand in hand, side by side, here and there all of life!
Bandstand is playing on as the husband marries the wife
Olden days are golden days!
Beholden ways of these golden days!
I say there laddie you are part of a great family
Becoming overjoyed happens normally and routinely
To reminisce about a glory day fills a story page
Living together now onto the next shared stage!
Hand in hand, side by side, here and there all of life!
Bandstand is playing on as the husband marries the wife
Olden days are golden days!
Beholden ways of these golden days!
