On hope

The most beautiful green
That I had ever seen

Was seen by just looking
Outside my classroom window's
Little banana trees garden in rain
My reality couldn't be trapped
In a school curriculum

The most beautiful green
That I had ever seen

Is now the tiny virgin shoot
On my apparently dead jasmine
I never longed for it's flowers
I only hoped for it's life
And it lives.
