On Infinity

Supposedly romantic
A number on its side
Up, down and around
Oh what a bumpy ride

But who says it is meant to be
Now or then, eternally
What if it's not a lying eight,
But a circle crushed by too much weight
Loops that keep on going
Until it's finally too late

The comfort of infinity?
An indefinite triviality
A promise as deceiving
As immortality

I'd rather live one day with you
Although its end might always loom
Than be with you infinitely
Trapped in timeless false security
Limitlessly limited
Never to reach
