On This Day

On This Day
Tragedy it surrounds us
Yet no matter how much anger or sadness
We feel powerless
Crumbling under our own emotions
However we are not powerless
We have the power to cry the power to remember
To cry for those souls that have been lost
Cry for all they have done and could have done
And remember the valiance of all those souls
Remember their last minutes and seconds
Let us all remember by hugging brothers and sisters
By cherishing fathers and mothers friends and family
For that is all we can do appreciate every second
Appreciate not by debate or politics
But rather by lowering our barriers and loving every second
Every new second past a second that we could not have had
A second that those who have now departed
Did not experience
Seconds that the valiant souls at Sandy Hook Elementary
No longer have.
Remember those who die and fall for us
Whether it be on 9/11, Columbine or Newton, Connecticut
Remember them all
And shed tears for what we have around us
