On this day

By Beck    Beck

She had begged, screamed and cried
With each passing day, wishing she died
For each morning from the darkness she awoke
Knowing that day another monster her neck would choke
She was battered, beaten and bruised
But through life everyone thought she cruised
Each time she grew the courage to tell
Another bruise her innocent face would spell
Light turned to darkness, as her spirit began to fade
Until one day, her fragile body into a coffin was laid
She had struggled with all of her might
To fight those monsters each ghastly night
But as fate decided and time could only tell
She was destined for a life darker than hell
Then one day, a smile flickered on her face
For today was the day time her memory would erase
On this day, her mission in life was finally fulfilled
As onto the ground, her precious blood spilled
No more did she suffer unimaginable abuse
No more was she a broken, scarred recluse
And on the day she finally said good bye
Not a tear any soul did cry
