Once a Video Now a Still Frame

My heart used to flutter at the sight of you
That was not too long ago and now I can't believe that was true
These days with just the echo of your voice without a strain
You turn my heart from a video to a still frame
It's like you command the last beat as if it belongs to you
In the past I would agree because it was truth
I would have given my last breath
Just to be sure you breathing was the last thing I've seen
My heart used to race with a nod and a smile from you
So innocent and so sweet, boy was I naïve
Now it struggles to manage a stutter
With just a single thought of you
Just to hear your name
It sends me falling, falling to my knees
Clinching my chest to realize nothing's there
So I wrench the hair from my head and I scream, how could you leave
The way I truly felt you've never seen
If you only knew the amount of love I still harbor for you
You would be mine for sure
This love is enough to carry a whole army of men through war
My heart used to flutter at the sight of you
That was not too long ago and now I can't believe that was true
These days with just the echo of your voice without a strain
You turn my heart from a video to a still frame
It's like you command the last beat as if it belongs to you
This is because you know no matter what I say it's still true
My heart will always belong to you
