Once in a lifetime love

A feather, she is, delicate but makes her presence known
A dance of purposeful chaos, she lives her life like a flame
At first glance she appears to have a heart of stone
But when her eyes met mine, I knew things would change

Rather than love at first sight, I feel a sense of belonging
Our souls speak a language, beyond human understanding
My views of happiness changing without a warning
Destined, the universe could see our connection was enchanting

On days when the gentleness around us hardens
Tensions arise and anger sears the ground beneath us
After every winter is spring, flowers will reappear in this garden
The scent of memory will replace anger with trust

I tend to wonder about the times when you weren’t mine
I would’ve found you in any lifetime
