Once Upon a Memory

Ocean breezes against her tanned skin.
Salt from the sea she can feel from within.
The waves come and crash against her toes.
Her heart is broken but nobody knows.

There was a time when all life was simple.
He made her smile which showed her dimples.
Though now her dimples do not show.
Her heart is sad because he had to go.
Her love was true but his was fake.
The lesson learned was hard to take.

Stronger and wiser she will be in time.
Though she is quiet now just like a mime.
Looking for her shattered dreams.
Trying now to mend the ripped seams.
She knows he is now just a memory.
Bitter sweet but always lingering.
