One Perfect World Away
You cast a downward glance, I see a tear fall.
You try to hide your disappointment with a smile.
The ache within my heart swells for your sorrow,
And I yearn to make this abject world worthwhile.
If I could steal you away to worlds unburdened.
If I could hold you in my arms and take to flight.
I would take you high above all degradation,
To a place beyond the clouds for your delight.
No tear would dare to trespass on your happiness.
No woeful cry would shatter tranquil play.
Fear would be unknown and pain unheard of,
In that haven just one perfect world away.
