One winters day

One winters day, the forest was clear,
Like a mountain without snow.
The trees blown and animals hidden.
Not a sound to be heard.
No wind.
No howl.
Not an animal miles around.
Just me.
As the snowflakes fall down on my face,
And goose bumps cover my skin.
The snow feeling goes down into my feet,
Through my legs to my heart.
A memory I knew I would not forget.
No chill feeling going down my skin.
No one around to stop me.
On this cold winters day.
