One Wish

By Da Poet

If you only had one wish what would it be?
I’d have multi-tasking wish just for you and me.
I’d pray for my wife to never shed another tear,
and that the rest of her days be fill with cheer.

I’d want my son to find substance in his life,
and perhaps one day find a wife.
And for my daughter such a precious one,
to embrace true peace and everlasting love.

Then finally my grandson for which I’m truly blessed,
never thought this would happen I must confess.
I’d love to see him grow into a fine young man,
and succeed in this world as best he can.

If I only had one wish that’s what it would be,
a multi-tasking wish just for you and me.
But, a wish is a wish, I’ll stick with my prayers,
the chances are greater when you send it upstairs.
