One Woman’s Story About Perseverance

Have you ever taken the time to ask yourself, What is it that is inside of you that drives you, in making you want to succeed?
My answer is Perseverance.
I come from a broken home
where the word family is foregin to me
and the word survival is comforting.
You see I never wanted to be unbreakable,
but my whole life I spent being broken.
I never wanted to be forced to work it out,
but my whole life I had to make it work.
I give myself a pep talk,
telling myself it is time to stop contracting excuses
But to trust the fact that beauty will be the outcome of my struggle,
There is no other time than now,
to start raising my truth.
I am grateful for choice
and
what perseverance has got me through
