Only the wind knows

Slowly the brightness of summer ended
and the darkness of winter came into view.
A little girl walks along the whispering sidewalk
heading towards her despair.

Cold hands wrap around her body in a swift motion
and her giggles get muted.
A snow white bunny grazed her legs
and her cold eyes peer down at it.

Her face emotionless.
Hands clutching white fur
she speaks in a low murmur.
I’m sorry, I don’t mean to do this.

Crimson liquid flooded onto the ground.
The little girl thought nothing of it
and continued to laugh and giggle.

She plays in the fields near her home
as the wind plays with her.
Carrying her secret
it comforts her.
