Only Worse Remains

For better or for worse
Nervously cast towards a wide open sun
Left adrift to sink to the sea floor of the soul
Forgotten to erode among the salt of time
Until a dark ship's light shines

Raised into the cold ocean wind
Only worse remains
Carved into a weathered map of pain
Better dissolves in the swirling sands
Victim to the current of a moon's unconscious plan
