Open my eyes
to see the discrepancies in all the colors.
Open my ears
to hear the hateful labels laced into everyday speech.
Open my nose
to smell the sweat of enslaved children.
Open my mouth
to taste the fleeting satisfaction of meager meals.
Open my hand
to touch the feverish foreheads of those who can't afford doctors.
For I am blinded by white noise
and the clamors of crumbling cultures
have been crushed beneath my feet.
I am desensitized to discrimination,
and darkness.
Ignorance is the poison
that stimulates the disease of injustice
and those who believe they are the healthiest
are in fact the most ill of all.
