Open Skies

My silence tells you I want to make a move.
Your eyes tell me you'll catch me if I do.
It's less like a leap of faith, and more like a promise.
I know your word is true.

Falling feels a lot like flying, if only for a second or two.
That's plenty of time for me to decide I only want to fall into you.

Your outstretched hand tells me you want to dance.
My shrug tells you I'm not sure.
It's less like a question, and more like a sweet demand.
These feet were made for stepping on yours.

Crashing feels a lot like dancing, if only for a second or two.
That's plenty of time for me to decide I only want to crash into you.

Your tears tell me the answer is "yes."
My smile tells you I already knew.
Forever is an awfully long time.
But girl, I've got nothing to do.

The ending reminds me of the beginning, if only for a second or two.
That's plenty of time for me to decide I only wanna end up with you.

I've never been afraid of falling; I was afraid you wouldn't fall too.
