Open Skies

The open sky carries resemblance
Of my thoughts
Today's wrinkles, straightened
Among those clouds
This is just an homage of sorts
A reminder from a pitiless God
That you are not with me
Our story remains unwritten
Leaving blank pages in my memories
Breath after breath shall be my goal
This day, through the hours, until this night
By midnight's strike
I will have settled into my room
I will paint and I will write and I will drink
Until I can't remember you
The only way that I can survive the night
Without you
