The words that once fell like honey
are whips and chains to me
slicing through each tender heart string
leaving empty holes like dark stains
upon a crisp clean cloth

The sweet music that once flowed from your lips
turns dissonant and jangled
your words are nothing but sounds
with their meaning all mangled

Your face is unrecognizable
tinted with something darker
those angelic and proud features
have been swallowed by a beast
who wears the mask of your face

Who was I to think?
That my tear would ever move you?
That my hear was ever worthy of
those sweet words you sang to me

A wretch, nothing more am I
to your heart I am a blemish
Your lies still cling to my heart
stuck with a false hope

"Doubt truth to be a liar"
"But never doubt I love"
