Ordinary

Do you ever feel like you’re ordinary
A no one among a world of the extraordinary?
That no matter what you do
There’s always someone better than you?
“I will never be good enough”, you rage
You are trapped in your mind; a loop; a cage
The world crumbles down in front of your eyes
Hurting your heart, blurring your sight
It is at this moment that you need to pause
And tell yourself that “just because”
“Just because someone is better than me
I am not entirely useless, you see?”
There will always be someone better than you
Thus, your only competition is, well, you!
Take it as a grain of salt, a cold pill
That it’s only your heart you need to fill
Your mind is a garden, think long and hard
Work for yourself, sow positive seeds, and don’t compare your cards
Now think once more, if on the tree you’re the only berry
Are you really all that ordinary?
