Our City

In the beautiful dimensions of Sorrow,
Human Nature is discovered
A thickening forest of darkness,
The man on the Moon is cut off from us
Going downtown,
That forest disappears
Driving on the highway,
There’s that forest of our city
“Where there is Love,
I’ll be there”
God says,
Offering us all the best salvation
Into acceptance and freedom,
Escaping the chains of the dark forest
Only to come back again,
Because those trees need saving
As we go back this time,
Free from our addictions and hatred
We see the beauty of the forest
Each tree looking more amazing than the last
We step forward into our troubles
With God’s Love as our shield and armor
Defeating the darkness
And helping the forests of our city shine again
