Our Color

Beginning or end
There is no distinction
And all is a continuous flow
On which we place labels and names
And while the sun sets on the horizon
Elsewhere it shows its morning rays
And among the infinite shades
Our color slowly fades

This Poems Story

Franco Gallippi was born in Toronto on March 22, 1969. His parents, Domenico and Maria, are Italian immigrants from the region of Calabria. He and his three sisters were raised in Toronto. In 2007 he successfully defended his PhD thesis in Italian studies (U of Toronto). He teaches Italian language, literature and cinema courses at the Italian Cultural Institute in Toronto. "Our Color" strives to concentrate within the limits of a few verses something he felt could be applied to a wide range of human experiences: something that could even include the universe and our place in it.
