Our Shelter

That girl in the corner
Writing in her journal
Looking depressed as ever
She wanted you to notice her
So will you be different
In this funhouse of a World
And give her understanding with your friendship
Or let her be lost like some would insist on
It’s a funhouse
This World is
We’re standing amidst a bunch of mirrors
Where everyone sees us strangely
Who are you?
And have you shown the others?
Light a candle
Put on this record
And you’ll see the future
His sister wrote him on a sticky note
The World was spinning
As he was listening
So many ways to go
He could be anything
Within the flowers is where I take shelter
Can’t I live out my purpose inside the flowers?
Please don’t hide from your beauty
My sweet darling, stop running
Roses will grow where there were once only thorns
Remember that when you start blooming
Live your life to the fullest
And embrace the rest of the World with you
