Our Sweet Six and Twenty

Upon my journey
Each day I go
Reminded twice
Once to once fro
My path midway
Staked with a cross
A symbolic reminder
Of life's greatest loss
Rhyme nor reason
Cannot be assigned
As the void within one
Struck the whole of mankind
Upon my journey
May I lend you my heart
For yours torn away
For yours torn apart
While questions remain
We spared have so many
So deep runs the loss
Of our sweet six and twenty

This Poems Story

I live in Torrington, CT. I am the father of identical twin boys who turned eight in May. I am extremely thankful that my boys are smart, happy, and healthy. I love them very much. My poem is for the people of Sandy Hook, CT, who have suffered an enormous loss. I like to think I speak for the entire world when I say you all are in our thoughts and hearts forever.
