Outlaw
Speeding through my highway of doubt,
Just trying to figure it all out,
My train of life is off the rails,
I must clean up this mental blood trail,
Like a criminal running from the law,
Just slipping through their cruel claw,
Spending every day worrying about the night,
Always wondering if i’ll be alright,
This perfect situation that I have created,
Now I must learn to disable and evade it,
I am an outlaw,
A misfit, a bandit,
Never again will I live my life without fear of you,
You are the cruelest master one could have,
My spirit will have to last the test of time as I run from your hands,
But the darkness is catching me,
Ruining the inside of me,
My conscience snaps like a twig in a storm,
As I fall to pieces in your trap,
I fell in love,
But then I just fell apart,
Like a blow to the chest,
I’m a slave to you now,
Looking up to the star I fell off of,
So far away,
The sound of the sea,
The crashing of the waves,
Forever will it haunt me,
Like the whispers of today.
