Outside the Window
Outside the window morning had just begun.
Workers went off to their 9 to 5,
and people called for taxis to drive them down the street.
School buses arrived at school.
The smell of breakfast was in the air and smelled good.
Outside the window afternoon had just begun.
The sound of recess was as loud as fans screaming at a concert.
Dog walkers went into the Boston Common and arrived back quickly.
The midday sun was out and drying the clothes hung on the line.
Outside the window night had just begun.
Fancy restaurants were just opening,
and you already needed a reservation.
The sun began to set and sidewalks got less crowded.
The Citgo sign lit up the sky and I began to feel tired.
Hopefully tomorrow I'll feel better and go outside.
