Pain of Loneliness

By

My eyes open wide, feeling
the early morning breeze on my skin
Watching the sun come up
What a beautiful thing! Still I wonder,
What does this day have for me?
The pain of loneliness is real
You can’t touch it or smell it, but it is real!
Deep down inside where all things hide
The anguish is overflowing, untouchable!
A fathom of hurt, pain, and sorrow that
comes from being alone day after day
Thus, the question begs to be answered,
Why am I here?
Is it for my family? For me?
For the hope of better things?
How do I overcome this loneliness?
Is my will to live greater than the pain?
So many questions as I look to this new day
