Painfully Free

My smile can no longer reach my eyes
Late at night all I can do is hide my cries
Trying hard to pretend to be the same
I find solace in drinking to drown my pain
Fighting a war I can never hope to win
I slowly give in to the ultimate sin

My pain runs guiltily down my arm
As I watch it flow like the endless rain
I am finally able to see the charm
With absolutely nothing left to gain
I have finally been set free
