PANDEMIC DAYS

By

The word quarantine means
"Space of forty days"
Stay at home, stay at home
Great advice in many ways
When it began, it was spring
Then spring became a bummer
Now, after all these days
Will this end by the end of summer?
Food is now running low
Ate the spam long ago
The new I hear is all bad
No sports to watch, so sad, so sad
Is anybody out there?
I am struggling here
I'm too warm in this hazmat suit
And I am getting low on beer
The power is still on
How long can we count on that?
Dark days lay ahead
"Black Mirror" episodes dance in my head
To rid myself of thoughts I seethe
To sanitize the air I breathe
I would love to walk with you
But don't touch me, and I won't touch you!
