Panic

In a sudden moment
you are hit with the
inability to breathe.
So you are very still;
unable to move,
except for the rapid
pulsation of your heart.
The panic that
freezes your lungs,
disables expansion.
You must remember.
Inhale, exhale.
You can lie very still,
you can let go
of every thought,
but you must
breathe in and out—
you must hold on to life.
