Paper Dreams

How many stars can be wished on,
before they all have been used?
How many dreams must be whispered,
before to my heart they are fused?
How many times must I soar in my mind,
until I at last can take flight?
How many books shall I read,
by the glow of full moons and starlight?
Don't live life in a cage, away from wonder,
though safe you may be from lightning and thunder.
Don't live life in a cage, without story or song,
a prisoner's world isn't where you belong.
I beg of you now to take the key,
freeing your spirits and setting you free.
